Prasoon Agarwal has almost 15 years of international development sector experience related to Energy, Low Carbon Development and Green Growth. Prasoon Agarwal is currently positioned as Regional Programme Officer, Asia-Pacific, IRENA, leading Engagement, Technical Co-operation and Partnerships initiatives in Asia-Pacific Region. Prior to joining IRENA, Prasoon Agarwal was working with Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), South Korea, where, as Senior Energy Specialist, he led energy policy advisory to countries in the Asia region – including assignments as India Program Manager and Country Head - Nepal. In past, Prasoon Agarwal worked as an Economist with the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, where he co-authored IEA’s flagship Publication the World Energy Outlook. Prasoon Agarwal began his career with public sector in India, working for the national oil company. Heholds a Ph.D. specializing in Energy Economics, with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
