His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer has served as the Vice-Chairman of EGA since its formation in 2014. He has more than 33 years’ experience in the field of telecommunications, energy, water, infrastructure, oil, gas and industry. H.E. Mr. Al Tayer has served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority, a highly successful organisation, for over 26 years. H.E. Mr. Al Tayer has also been involved in establishing several successful companies including Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER). H.E. Mr. Al Tayer is a member of Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of Infrastructure and Environment Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Chairman of Dubai Smart City Office, Vice-Chairman of Emirates National Oil Company, Vice-Chairman of Dragon Oil Company, Chairman of UAE Water Aid Board Of Trustees, and Chairman of World Green Economy Organization. In addition, H.E. Mr Al Tayer is a member, vice-chairman, or chairman of various high-level committees and higher leading councils in the Emirate of Dubai. H.E. Mr Al Tayer has received a number of prestigious awards such as the ‘Middle East Champion of Energy’ award received at the World Green Economy Summit 2015 from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). On 18 May 2016, the UNDP appointed H.E. Mr Al Tayer as ‘UNDP National Goodwill Ambassador for Sustainable Development Goals’.
