Christophe Béchu is Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion (since July 2022). He was Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, in charge of Territorial Collectivities (from May to July 2022). Christophe Béchu was mayor of Angers from 2014 to 2022. In April 2018, he was appointed head of the Agence de financement des infrastructures de transport de France (AFITF), a public body responsible for coordinating the financing of major transport infrastructure projects. He was reappointed by the French President in June 2021. From 2015 to July 1, 2022, Christophe Béchu chaired the Observatoire national de l'action sociale (ODAS), whose mission is to analyze the actions of local authorities in the field of social cohesion. He was also a senator between 2011 and 2017, and a member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2011. Elected in Avrillé in 1995, he chaired the Maine-et-Loire department for ten years, from 2004 to 2014.
